This is the cover of our digi-pack, for Eyes Set To Kill, with the album Darling.
Front/Back Cover:
The front cover took a while, due to research on what a front cover of a digi-pack consists of, we took photographs of a couple of students, creating a heart with their hands, which relates to the song 'Darling.'
We stuck to the red and black colour theme which tends to conquer the metal genre, which helped as the 'Eyes Set To Kill' record label, BreakSilence Recordings, has a red, white and black theme, on which I edited out the white background, and replaced it to fit into the cover.
The font style used for each section.
Back Description: Futura - 14 Point.
Back Live Shows Title: PrinceTown LET - 18 Point.
Back Live Shows List: Edwardian Script ITC - 30 Point.
Spine Text: Edwardian Script ITC - 32 Point.
Front Cover Eyes Set To Kill: Edwardian Script ITC - 56.49 Point.
Front Cover Review: Futura - 14 Point.
Front Cover 'Darling': Edwardian Script ITC - 60 Point. This allotted text, has a curve flowing throughout, to try and fit the banner which we implemented, we did this by clicking 'Warp Text' and changed the settings to create a flexible title.
Front/Back Cover of the Digi-Pack:
We used Adobe Photoshop CS4, which worked nicely to achieve an 'Eyes Set To Kill' themed cover, using an image of a couple, creating a heart symbol with their hands, gives a typical view of couples in love, which relates entirely to their music, and our chosen song.
Front(Right):
We used the font; Edwardian Script, which created a delicate feel towards the band and their music, as their lead singer is female, it reflects a personal effect on the band. Using the black background, with red text, fit into the genre of Metalcore, as various bands which I've looked at, including 'Bullet for my Valentine' and 'Trivium', use these colour schemes, whether it's on their music videos, CD covers, or their websites.
I created a heart the place of the symbol within their hands, to make it clear to the audience what they're trying to create, and showing their emotion at that current period. Fading out the whole image and heart, fits nicely into the display, as it's a focus, but not the main focus.
The main focus is the white border which is displayed on the bottom of the front cover, creating the focus on the DVD title, along with the white underline on the band name, at the top of the cover.
Back(Left):
This displays the DVD logo, along with the record labels, barcode and other various information which is usually displayed on the DVD/CD cover.
Providing an informative introduction, which describes to the viewer about the band, and what they expect from this package, ontop of the list of performances.
Spine(Center):
Displays the band name and title of the digi-pack, along with the record label, and a hand-drawn heart as the symbol at the top of the spine.
Inside View of the Digi-Pack:
The inside view of the digi-pack, has the continued theme from the front/back cover, and the metalcore genre. Keeping the red and black consistant throughout the package. The background image was taken during the night, when the colour echoed from the moon was red, which fit into the genre perfectly.
The CD/DVD section (Left) was created to display the location of the disc, providing the title of the digi-pack, DVD logo and record label.
To the left of the inside cover, it displays the lyrics of their feature song 'Darling', along with the DVD symbol and record label.
Overall, the text fits perfectly into the size of the cover, along with the red colour scheme, which fits in nicely.
